Hood River Camp Baldwin Permanent

Western Larch decorate Mt. HoodOctober 25, 2008 - Western Larch decorate Mt. Hood.

This is a very challenging but scenic 200k route with about 8,300+ feet of elevation gain starting in Hood River, Oregon. The route follows the scenic highway along the Columbia River, through the Twin Tunnels trail to The Dalles and continues in the wheat fields east of The Dalles to Dufer, Oregon. From Dufer the route climbs to Camp Baldwin and the Mt. Hood National Forest. There are picture perfect views of Mt. Hood and a great decent to OR 35, the Mt. Hood Highway. The route continues to the end of the pavement near Cooper Spur Ski Area resort where there is a great downhill run to Parkdale Oregon. From Parkdale the route returns to the start at the Hood River Marina. Parking for the ride is at the Hood River Marina parking lot next to the Hood River Bridge.
